Description:Detailed report on the geology and mineral resources of a 15-minute quadrangle primarily within southeastern Indiana County and northeastern Westmoreland County. The report consists of a text, a 1:62,500-scale geologic and mineral-resources map (Plate 1), and a series of plates located in the text or back pocket that include stratigraphic sections, a fence diagram, a cross section, a diagram of a fault, coal-reserve maps, and gas-well sections (Plates 2–13). Major text topics include physiography, geologic history, stratigraphy, structure, and mineral resources. Bituminous coal is the primary mineral resource discussed and described.
