Description
In 2016, the Pennsylvania Geological Survey’s park guide series was recategorized and included in a new trail of geology series. In TG 16–012.0, a reformatted version of Park Guide 12, the author describes the geology of Worlds End State Park. The park is located along Loyalsock gorge in Sullivan County, and the gorge has created many spectacular views and opportunities to see the geology. Rock cities, crossbedding, lungfish burrows, and whirlpools are all explored in this guide, which includes a geologic map of the area with scenic vista points identified.
