Description
In 2016, the Pennsylvania Geological Survey’s park guide series was recategorized and included in a new trail of geology series. The authors of TG 16–011.0, a reformatted version of Park Guide 11, discuss the geologic features found at Ravensburg State Park in central Pennsylvania. The park is located in a steep-walled, rocky gorge that was carved by Rauchtown Creek. The rocks in the gorge, Big Rock Spring, and Castle Rocks are explored in this guide, which also includes photographs, a sketch of crossbedding, and a geologic map of the area.
