Description:This map shows the locations of oil, natural gas, and gas storage fields and pools in Pennsylvania as of July 1, 1981. Colors and patterns used for the areas shown indicate whether they are gas storage areas (brown), gas-producing areas (pinks and reds), or oil-producing areas (greens), and which rock units include the producing zones. Numbers keyed to a list indicate the field and pool names, dates of discovery, dates storage use began, and producing horizons. The map shows but does not designate fields and pools that were considered abandoned at the time of compilation.
