Description
Trail of Geology 16–009.0 was originally released as Open-File Report 98–12. The trail of geology series was created to collect guides such as this one into a formal series. The authors of TG 16–009.0 thoroughly and cleverly explore the geology of Nottingham County Park located in southwestern Chester County in southeastern Pennsylvania. The story of the area’s geologic history is carefully interwoven with its mining history and the geobotanical relationships that are present on the landscape. The serpentine barrens are highlighted, and the “serpentine factor” is described and discussed. Maps, photographs, and sketches add even more detail to this enjoyable read.
