Description
A comprehensive report covering geologic and early human history, topography, weather, stratigraphy, structure, mineralogy, economic resources, soils, and groundwater of Lehigh County in eastern Pennsylvania. Predominant rock types include Middle Proterozoic gneisses and Early Cambrian through Silurian clastics and carbonates. These rocks have been folded and faulted by at least two compressive events. Quaternary glacial deposits are also discussed. The report includes an illustrated text and two 1:62,500-scale maps (a geologic map and a topographic map showing mines and quarries).
