Description
This report includes a 1:24,000-scale surficial geologic map of the Hazleton 7.5-minute quadrangle in eastern Pennsylvania and a short text. Surficial geology includes 16 types of anthropogenic, alluvial or wetland, and colluvial units. Areas of bedrock are defined by rock type and color. The text includes map unit descriptions, and a discussion of reconnaissance mapping procedures, previous work, and the effects of glacial and periglacial activity on landforms and drainage. A table equates previously published soil map units to the surficial and bedrock units shown on the report map.
