Description:This preliminary report releases the chemical analysis results of 366 samples of Ordovician limestones (Beekmantown, Annville, and Jacksonburg Formations) collected in Berks County. The sampling of the carbonates was undertaken as part of a comprehensive geologic investigation that was ongoing in Berks County. A black and white, 1:125,000-scale geologic map of the carbonate units in Berks County is included on a separate plate. The map also shows faults and collection locations. The text summarizes the geology, geochemistry, and economic potential of the carbonate bedrock units. The sample analyses are given in an appendix along with the location and other pertinent information on the collection sites.
