Description:The East Fork-Wharton gas field is located in southern Potter County, north-central Pennsylvania, and produces mainly from the Lower Devonian Oriskany Sandstone. The report introduces the reader to the location, method of investigation, and history of development in this area, and goes on to discuss the topography, surface and subsurface stratigraphy and structure, and specifics about the East Fork-Wharton Oriskany sand gas pool. An Appendix contains well records, sample descriptions for several wells, and measured sections from two locations. There is also a map depicting the location of Oriskany gas wells and the structure on top of the Oriskany Sandstone.
