Description
This illustrated booklet is about the geologic history of Pennsylvania from the formation of our planet in the universe some 4.6 billion years ago to the present. Section discussions are organized by geologic time and include geologic events, rock types or deposits, and life forms in Pennsylvania. These topics are conveniently outlined on a geologic time scale on the back cover of the booklet. After reviewing the state's geologic history, the authors describe the end results: Pennsylvania’s physiography (present-day landscape), mineral resources, and geologic hazards, and the influence we have on our environment.
