Description
This report presents descriptions and photographs of fossil plants collected from the Pennsylvanian-age Llewellyn Formation in two locations: near the borough of St. Clair and near the village of Wanamie. The St. Clair specimens are replaced by pyrophyllite, the distinctive mode of preservation typical of this locality. The report also contains a brief outline of the geology of the Anthracite coal basins of Pennsylvania, including a generalized stratigraphic column and a small-scale map within the text.
