Description
This report constructs a regional stratigraphic framework of the Catskill delta (Upper Devonian rocks) for northeastern Pennsylvania. It interprets prodelta, delta-front, bay, braided-stream, and meandering-stream depositional environments from outcrop and well data. Economic uses are also discussed and include natural gas, groundwater, flagstone, and uranium. The report includes stratigraphic correlation diagrams, including a plate showing a colored fence diagram, based on data collected from deep wells. The Catskill Formation and underlying Trimmers Rock Formation are of particular interest, but information is also given on units down to the top of the Onondaga Formation.
