Description:Through extensive field investigation in parts of Kishacoquillas, Penns, Brush, and Nittany Valleys, and microscopic and chemical analyses of collected samples, the lithostratigraphy, petrography, and chemistry of the Ordovician carbonate rocks represented by the Hatter, Snyder, Linden Hall, and Nealmont Formations were delineated for this report. The author addresses the definition and usage of each stratigraphic name, and writes about the lithologic, petrographic, and chemical character of each stratigraphic unit (formations and members). Thirty-eight measured sections are included in the appendix, two plates show petrographic comparisons (photomicrographs of thin sections from the units) for three locations, and several plates show fence diagrams and stratigraphic correlations across the study area.
