Description: | Provenance, distribution, and interpretation of depositional environments of Triassic sediments in the Newark-Gettysburg basin, located in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, is the focus of this report. The report includes tables of point-count data from 518 gross samples and petrographic descriptions of 114 thin sections. Nine plates comprise relatively small-scale maps: two geologic maps, one map showing Triassic basins in North America, one map showing rock color at each sample outcrop, and multiple maps on five plates showing sample distributions and sample compositions. |
