Description:This report gives a detailed description of the Silurian Bloomsburg Formation, from its basal transitional contact with the Mifflintown Formation to its transition into the overlying Wills Creek Formation. It contains stratigraphic section descriptions from across Pennsylvania, Maryland, and West Virginia. A chapter on paleontology includes a list of Bloomsburg fauna followed by detailed descriptions of found specimens. The book closes with a look at the significance of fossiliferous red beds and a section on the correlation of the Bloomsburg fauna with other units. The report also includes a plate of a relatively small scale isopach map of the Bloomsburg Formation and the Rabble Run Member of the Mifflintown Formation in Pennsylvania and surrounding areas.
