Description
This water resource report on Armstrong County describes average well yields, groundwater chemistry, and potential sources of pollution, as well as water quality, distribution and lithology, and water-bearing characteristics or well depths and yields of each geologic unit. The area is underlain by alluvium and Mississippian and Pennsylvanian sedimentary rocks. The report includes data tables that complement the text. There is a 1:125,000-scale generalized geologic map of the county that also shows the locations of selected wells and structure contours on the Upper Freeport coal and Vanport limestone.
