Description
This report describes the occurrence, availability, and quality of groundwater in Clarion County. It examines the extent of groundwater and surface-water contamination by acid mine drainage and oil and gas well operations. There are descriptions of lithology and structure, water-bearing characteristics, well depths and yields, well location and spacing, and water quality for alluvium and the Mississippian and Pennsylvanian bedrock aquifers found in the county. The publication includes a 1:125,000-scale, generalized geologic map of the county that also shows the location of selected wells. Tables show data collected during the investigation and include a record of wells, sample logs, and chemical analyses of groundwater.
