Description
This detailed publication on the geology and groundwater resources of western Crawford County in northwestern Pennsylvania consists of a text and three plates. Much of the report area is covered by Wisconsinan glacial drift, which in turn is underlain by rocks of Devonian, Mississippian, and Pennsylvanian age. Major text topics include groundwater, water quality, and geology. Six tables complement the text discussion and include summaries of well and water-quality data, a record of wells, and the results of laboratory and field analyses of groundwater. The three plates consist of 1:50,000-scale maps of the report area as follows: (1) a geologic and water availability map, (2) a map showing thickness of glacial deposits and locations of wells, and (3) a map showing the extent, thickness, and structure of the Cussewago Sandstone.
