Description
This report looks at the bedrock geology of the Slate Run 7.5-minute quadrangle area in north-central Pennsylvania. It consists of a single sheet (plate) containing a colored, 1:24,000-scale geologic map, a stratigraphic column with detailed descriptions, a table of stratigraphic nomenclature comparing this report with nearby areas, and a brief discussion of economic geology. The area is of special interest because of the complicated stratigraphy at the Mississippian-Devonian boundary. There is a figure-sized outline map showing the presence or absence of the Cedar Run conglomerate and the lithologic character of the Burgoon Sandstone.
