Description: | This report describes the significance of the discovery of gas in the Oriskany Formation in a well drilled on a farm in Leidy Township, Cameron County. The discovery well, Dorsey Calhoun No. 1, is located on the Leidy dome on the Wellsboro anticline and extended the area of known Oriskany gas occurrences (at the time) to the south. The back cover of the report has a folds structure map of north-central Pennsylvania showing the location of Oriskany wells and gas fields. |
