Description:This report focuses only on the carbonate rocks of the Lancaster 15-minute quadrangle. It consists of a text and two plates—a 1:24,000-scale geologic and hydrologic map, and geologic cross sections. The text begins with a discussion of the physical characteristics and general geology of the region. Individual geologic units, general geologic structure, and geomorphology are described. Water-bearing characteristics of the carbonate rocks, groundwater use, and water quality are discussed. The report includes nine measured reference sections for carbonate units, and tables of well records and chemical analyses of groundwater.
